Christmas (part duex, or a third time if you will)

Happy Christmas! Today we waited on Andy to arrive but they didn't leave until 7PM, unlike originally planned (grr) but we still had things to do cooking, cleaning wise and then we went to the cinema. I also watched A Christmas Story yet again, hehe!

We saw Benjamin Button and found it absolutely wonderful! It's one of the most stunning and interesting films for me in a long while. The concept itself is so neat! I don't really have enough time to delve into it properly but I found it exceptional. The effects will leave you breathless! Not once did I ever find it hoakey, like older Brad Pitt, etc. you buy ever bit of it. It was truly astonishing visual effects wise. There are also so many single shots of the film that are just amazingly stunning. (On of my favorite scenes is when Daisy dances for Benjamin at night, pictured above). It was really one of the most beautiful love stories I've ever seen and it was a lot funnier than I expected too, it's not totally dark and all, it's sweet, tender and tragic, just like life. It was indeed quite long, (nearly 3 hours) but, it is someone's entire life, so I'd rather it be too long than underdeveloped. I can handle long movies, so run times rarely bother me but I think the biggest thing people will not like about the movie is it's length so be warned. But that's pretty much the beauty of it for me. Cate Blanchett has never looked more stunning to me and she wore some of the loveliest dresses! Brad Pitt was incredible too and even under all the effects and everything gave a remarkable performance that wasn't lost in translation. I enjoyed the lovely Tilda Swinton too! The biggest surprise to me was Taraji P. Henson as Queenie (Benjamin's mom), she was lovely! So funny, sweet and motherly. I know she is getting a lot of acclaim and it's really deserved! She's totally unforgettable! The movie is truly a love letter to New Orleans as well. I know the movie isn't for everyone but I highly recommend it!

Goodnight Daisy...
... Goodnight Benjamin

Movie Meme #1

Movie meme from Incandragon.

1. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times:
The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Ginger Snaps, Dazed & Confused, The Devil's Rejects - off the top of my head to name a few.

2. Name a movie that you’ve seen multiple times in a theater:
I would easily see all the movies I love more than once, but it wasn't possible via transportation and all. Hopefully that will change soon though. I believe the most ever was Titanic (at least 8 times). The movie was re-released and all, I saw it a few times at the big theatre when it first premiered, then months later when it came to the dollar admission cinema. I do love the movie, but it's not like I saw it so many times because of that. I was younger and didn't have many things to do so the cheap theatre was it. Titanic was there for months so I saw it a lot needless to say. Others: I Know What You Did Last Summer (5 times at least), The Dark Knight (3 times), X2 (3 times),

Teresa Palmer & LJ Paid Account

I forgot to post yesterday, so I figured I'd double up today.

Teresa Palmer is love! While watching a few of her interviews today she made me genuinely giddy because she's so darn cute and enthusiastic about everything. It's nice she isn't at all jaded by the little bit of success she's getting (and will only continue to grow IMO). Even when asked about her former boyfriend, the crazy Russel Brand she remained polite, sweet and didn't shun away the questions or get the slightest rude, and I'm even more happy the interviews didn't keep pressuring her. While another interview she was so happy to be a part of a Vanity Fair editorial, she was so overcome with joy it was so sweet to watch. Her happiness is truly infectious! I adore the girl. I actually even got excited to see Bedtime Stories while seeing some hotness from her from the film.

My other happy thing for yesterday, was I got a paid account. :) I really shouldn't have, because this isn't my 'main' blog and all, and I'm positive I'll lose interest after a month, heh, but I wanted my own mood theme (snazzy eh?) and this Ginger Snaps one truly was perfect for every emotion and called out to me. Many thanks to the maker [info]tahraton_mieli. At the least I suppose I can do my meme's here. If I'm tagged after all (wink, wink)
